Out and About: Located between the mountains and the sea means that there are a variety of ways to spend your time in Malaga. There are a number of interesting places to see in the city centre. These include the 16th century Cathedral located at the heart of the city’s old quarter. Known locally as La Manquita. To the east of the city are the remains of two moorish palaces and the brand new, purpose built state of the art museum that pays hommage to the world's most famous Malaga resident, Picasso, has been met with critical acclaim. But the atmosphere, cafes, restaurants and buzzy Spanish streetlife is enough to keep most visitors entertained.
The surrounding region offers some of the most popular beaches in Spain, with lots of watersports opportunities. Malaga is also one of the world's best destinations for golfers, with the region offering a wealth of golf courses.
