PSV Eindhoven has a glorious footballing history. The seventies and eighties is recognised as its golden era when they won 2 Dutch FA Cup and 3 league titles. In 1978, PSV beat Bastia to the UEFA cup. From 1986-1992, PSV won an amazing 7 league titles and 3 Dutch cups. With a strong scouting team identifying foreign talent like Ronaldo and a solid academy bringing the likes of Ruud Gullit through the ranks, the nineties has shown that PSV Eindhoven are always a force to be reckoned with.
Last season, PSV took the league title and the Dutch cup bringing their honours tally to 18 league victories and 8 Cups. Coach Guus Hiddink has gained world wide reputation for his successes at PSV and also as National Coach of South Korea where he led the team to 4th place in the World Cup, 2002. In August 2005, Hiddink was named as the new Australian Coach in a move to boost their World Cup bid. Hiddink will continue his work with PSV.
Honours: Since their first triumph in 1929, PSV have recorded a further 16 Dutch National Championship victories and won 3 Dutch FA Cups.
Europe has brought success with triumphs in the UEFA Cup (1978), and in 1988 claimed the most important club silverware of them all - the European Cup.

Academy:
PSV is acknowledged world wide for grooming home grown talent: Gullit, van Nistelroy and Robber all came through the club’s academy.
The Academy is based in the first team’s training ground, De Herdgang. A sports and training complex based close to the Phillips Stadium, it is set in woodland and houses 7 training pitches and a fitness centre.
Out and About: Eindhoven is in the Southern Netherlands and is one of the oldest cities in Holland, dating back to 1232. The city grew thanks to industrial development yet is set in beautiful countryside and the river Dommel running through it. It is a university town, with a strong youth population and lively cultural scene. The Van Abbe Museum, a modern art gallery houses works by Picasso and Chagall.
Einhoven is also home to an historical open-air museum set on the river to the southern edge of the city. Holland's biggest theme park, the "Efteling' is also only a short distance away.
Close by, Maastricht is a picturesque city and fine example of Flemmish architecture and boasts a great culinary tradition.
