Rangers Football Club is Scotland’s most successful team, boasting more domestic league titles than its arch rival, Celtic.
Walter Smith won the league back from Celtic in 2009 after finshing behind the rivals three years in a row. the club were in financial difficulty in recent years, which meant that the club were limited on signing new players and had to even let go of some of the team's stars. The club has stablelised recently and begun producing the performances that won them 9 titles in a row in the 90's.
With Ally McCoist as assistant to Smith the team will be expected to go well in the league and domsetic cups this season and will hope to make an impact on Europe in teh Champions League. Rangers FC remain the most honoured club in Scotland, holding the World Record for the number of domestic league titles (52) and domestic trebles (7).
Transport Access : Ibrox Stadium is located in the Govan district of Glasgow. It has its own underground station with direct links in to the centre of Glasgow.
Out and About: The river Clyde runs through the centre of Glasgow and splits the city in two. The banks of the river provide great views of the other side. The cathedral district of the city dates back to medieval times and the Merchant City district to the Victorian era. Glasgow has enjoyed a dramatic transformation and cultural resurgence in the last two decades earning the city annual titles such as European City of Sport, Music and Culture. Glasgow’s Science Centre is a major attraction, with the Revolving Tower providing superb views across the city. Glasgow has an energetic vibe about the city, with great cafes and bars and some of the UK’s best shopping! Glasgow is a good base from which to explore Scotland’s lochs. The Loch Lomond Shores visitor centre less than an hour’s drive away from the city and as well as being a significant visitor attraction in its own right, also stands as the gateway to the lochs.
