Sevilla FC has enjoyed a resurgence since the turn of the millennium when a new coach (Joaquin Caparros) led the team to victory in the second division and the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey. Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength: in the 2006-2007 season, Sevilla took the UEFA Cup for a second consecutive time and finally won the Copa de Rey - the first time the club had won a title in Spain in sixty years.
The club is renowned for having one of the best training academies in Spain. Famous players such as Reyes, Ramos, Capel, and Marchena started their development within Seville’s youth facilities. Sevilla FC's stadium is named after its former president Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and has a spectator capacity of 45,500. The stadium has hosted some very memorable matches including the 1982 World Cup Semi-Finals in which Germany beat France in the penalty shoot-outs after a 3-3 draw.
