Team Information

Chelsea FC
One of the most famous football clubs in England, Chelsea has a long, unique and idiosyncratic history, and has experienced both the highs and the lows of the game. From the glamorous, talented and flamboyant team which emerged in swinging London in the mid-1960s, to the financial and on-pitch woes that almost forced its extinction in the early 1980s. From the rejuvenated side of the mid-1980s that returned it to stability, to the cosmopolitan renaissance of the late-1990s, which saw it challenge for honours again, to a takeover in June 2003 which contributed to its current status as one of the dominant teams in the country and a new powerhouse in Europe.

Harlequins
Harlequins was founded in 1866 and the first recorded game took place in 1867. Many Harlequins players worked in the City of London and the club has retained strong ties to the financial sector.

Harlequins play at Twickenham Stoop, which is situated in Twickenham in south-west London. The stadium is named after former England international Adrian Stoop, who was a Harlequins player and later president of the club.

About the City

London is one of the world’s leading business, financial, and cultural centres, and its influence in politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion and the arts all contribute to its status as a major global city.

The city is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. London’s most popular sport (for both participants and spectators) is football. London has thirteen professional football clubs, including five in the Premier League.
