Valencia CF

Want a different team?

Receive top class training from Valencia CF’s full time professional club coaches, with courses adapted to the requirements and ability level of your group. Valencia have gone from strength to strength in recent years, so there’s no better time for your school or club to learn the skills and techniques that resulted in the team being voted World’s Best Club in 2004.

You’ll be training on the same complex as the first team, with its myriad of playing areas, including numerous 7-a-side and 11-a-side astroturf pitches, and two full-sized grass pitches. On top of world class training, groups also get the opportunity to watch first team and youth team training sessions (subject to match and training schedules) and receive a behind the scenes tour of the magnificent Mestalla Stadium. This is an opportunity not to be missed, so don’t delay and make Valencia CF the location of your school or club’s next football tour.

Valencia CF have long lived under the shadow of Spain’s big two, Real Madrid CF and FC Barcelona, but recent years have seen the side emerge as one of the strongest in Europe, as they proved by reaching two consecutive UEFA Champions League finals in 1999/2000 and 2000/01. In 2004 Valencia were voted the World’s Best Club as they found success in winning the Spanish La Liga title, Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Cup and the European Super Cup in the same season.

Valencia play at the Mestalla stadium in the centre of the city. The club is currently building a larger stadium to the North West of Valencia. The new arena, which should be complete by the end of 2013, will accommodate 75 000 spectators and has been classified as one of FIFA’s 5-star stadia.

The province of Valencia is situated in the centre of the Spanish Mediterranean coastline. It overlooks the Gulf of Valencia and is skirted at the back by a group of mountains and rolling plains leading to the lands of Aragon and Castile-La Mancha. It is opposite the Balearic Islands and equidistant from the country’s two major decision-making centres: Madrid and Barcelona.

Valencia’s all-year round warm, sunny climate makes it a perfect base for training programmes. Situated on Spain’s south-east coastline, away from the over-developed resorts in the Costa Brava and Costa del Sol, it is also a fantastic setting to relax in.

The Cathedral and the basilica form in the heart of the old city from which a maze of narrow streets leave. Valencianos and tourists alike gravitate to this part of town.  Valencia honours its city patron, San Jose, with an incredibly colourful fiesta called “Las Fallas” where the city streets and roads are taken over by processions of giant figures. The city’s population doubles in March during these celebrations!

The city has flourished in the past three years and has rapidly established itself as Spain’s new and most fashionable tourist destination. The 32nd America’s Cup 2007 was held in Valencia and the city also played host to the 2008 European F1 Grand Prix.
