Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque is a French professional rugby union team based in the city of Biarritz, Aquitaine. Biarritz won the 2012 European Challenge Cup, defeating French rivals Toulon in the process. The club play home matches at the Parc des Sports Aguilera, which despite being a small stadium, has a reputation for it’s intimidating atmosphere.
Biarritz play in red and white shorts, and they have had a successful past, winning the French Championship on five times. The club won back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006, and were runners up in Europe 2006. Notable former players include Imanol Harinordoquy, Dimitri Yachvili, Joe Roff, Philippe Bernat-Salles, Serge Betsen, Serge Blanco and Thierry Dusautoir.
