This week we introduce you to one of our tour coordinators – Kyle Johns. We find out more about his childhood aspirations, his humble choice of a Disney character that he associates with and his hobbies outside the workplace.
Why did you want to join inspiresport?
Whilst reading a degree in Sports Development at University, I was drawn in to the opportunity to work as Tour Representative due to the exceptional links that Inspiresport have with some of the biggest sporting clubs and governing bodies in the world – after six months in this role and completing my degree; I took the step in to the office to work as a Tour Coordinator. The company’s values and opportunities both internally and externally, drawn me into a career choice I couldn’t turn down.
How long have you been with inspiresport?
Just over a year – with the last six months being based in office as part of the Operations Team.
What do you like the most about your job?
How facilitating the company is the club partnerships and opportunities available. We have the chance to work with the most prestigious professional clubs, academies, and schools – where you wouldn’t have this opportunity with any other job in the sports development industry.
As a child, what did you think you were going to be when you grow up?
It varied between a Fireman and a Professional Rugby Player.
If you had to describe yourself with just one emoji – which one would it be?
What do you like doing in your spare time – do you have any hobbies/how do you relax?
I spend all of my spare time training for rugby, either on the field or in the gym; I also surf very frequently. Outside of this, you’ll find me eating cookies and drinking a cappuccino.
Who is your sporting hero?
Jonny Wilkinson – he epitomizes a true sporting great, leader and exceptional rugby player. He has always been a sporting hero of mine!
If you were a Disney character who would you be and why?
Mr. Incredible – Because I’m incredible obviously…
Have you/ do you play any sports?
I currently play Elite Level 7s Rugby and I surf. I have participated in pretty much all sports though as I love being involved in a sporting environment.
